I’ve had a busy couple of months with races across North, Central and South America. I kicked off my season in Mexico at Ironman 70.3 Monterrey where I settled for 7th place after a comedy of errors. After that, I headed to my training base in The Woodlands, Texas for a couple weeks of heat acclimation, inevitable lapses in vegetarianism, and political debates with my Texan friends (jk y’all!). From there, I ventured farther south to the Ironman 70.3 South American Championship in Palmas where I ticked off my first major objective of the season with a podium finish. After a whirlwind tour of the Ventum headquarters in Miami Beach, it was back home to Ontario to prepare for the Ironman 70.3 North American Championship in St. George, Utah. I ran my way to another 7th, not altogether disappointing given the stellar field—one of the strongest fields ever assembled outside of the World Championships.
I’ve been sharing post-race video recaps on my Facebook page. Here they are along with some photos from my adventures abroad.
